My experience has been terrible! I have been hung up on , received no reply on multiple questions and emails. I have been unable to receive a fair pay out or even have an objective conversation in a polite manner. In everyway this office for Erie is one of the worst managed divisions I have ever encountered in a long career of dealing with insurance adjusters. I have always held Erie insurance on a pedestal as the most reasonably priced , high quality of customer service, and exceptionally fair pay on claims. I feel that I wasted my time selling this company after this horrendous and disappointing experience!

Terrible customer service. After more than 10 weeks processing simple fender bender claim agent told us they couldn't do anything for us. Worse than the decision was the multiple phone calls and emails they ignored. received just 2 emails in 10 weeks!. If Laurie gets your claim get a new adjuster!

According to Erie Insurance, a Honda Civic can apparently hover a foot off the ground, fly or leap like a leopard. My son ( who is mildly autistic ) was sideswiped by a white delivery truck while driving his 2010 Civic. The Civic's mirror, height 36 -40 inches, was smashed off. ( among other damages ). When the cop arrived, the trucker pinky swore that my son had hit his truck with the bumper of the Civic. Despite the evidence, the cop said he believed the trucker, an employee of a major firm..BTW When we saw the photos of the truck, it was clear that the damage was at least 36 inches high. The bumper of a Civic is at most 26 inches high. When we pointed this fact out to an Erie manager, he insisted that it was possible for a 26 inch high bumper to hit a truck at a height of 36 inches. Really? In a low speed accident, on a level highway, on planet Earth??? Wow. This manager also refused to discuss the smashed mirror and how it matched exactly with the damage point on the truck. Erie totally ignored all physical evidence and insisted that the trucker, and therefore the cop, must be telling the truth. Well, of course, since that saved Erie from paying $1400 to fix my son's car. Oh, and an Erie employee also suggested that even mildly autistic persons shouldn't be driving - nice, huh? Our own "insurance" company, AAA, also threw us under the bus. They decided that my son was at fault BEFORE they ever saw any physical evidence of the truck's damage. No appraiser, no physical investigation and when presented with the actual evidence, they ignored it. Can't wait to see how much his insurance payments go up ! AAA refuses to tell us so that explains their actions pretty clearly. This is why people hate car insurance companies. We are forced to buy it but companies can just refuse to pay or use any excuse to rip you off.

I've been with Erie for about 7 years now, but it wasn't until 2 years ago that I had to file a claim. It was at this time that I learned that Erie is a complete nightmare to deal with when it comes to claims. After several months of dealing with them, I finally received a check, but it was about $2K than other insurance experts told me we should have received. Moreover, the check was actually several hundred more than Erie had originally offered us. That one incident (for which my spouse was deemed at fault) left us stuck with Erie though. And when faced with a second claim (other party at fault) things got even worse. The Erie-approved shop totally botched a simple scratch removal job and had to go back 3 times to get it right. When I had to argue with the shop to get things done, the adjuster - who maintains a close, personal relationship with the shop - didn't want to get involved as she thought it might jeopardize her friendship with shop staff. One year later and not only was Erie unable to get payment out of the other party, but the other party is now suing me for damage that was very clearly their fault. I expect MY insurance company to look out for MY best interests and Erie looks out for everyone but their own customers.
